Fall Already?

Well, This blog will be about Fall but first a quick update... The truck is still not here, but the good news is it should be leaving TODAY!! Keep your fingers crossed.

So on to the real purpose of this post, Fall. Fall is my favorite season. Back home where everything is green and lush the trees were so beautiful. I can't even tell you how many different colors would come from each tree. It is such a sight. Everyone should once in their lifetime make a trip to the east coast during fall to see this amazing array of colors. When I moved to Utah, I think that I missed the Fall season the most. Utahans would tell me to drive up the canyon, it was so beautiful, and it was, but it is not the same. Yes there a a few colors but nothing compared to what I am used to. So how is it in Minnesota you ask? Well I will tell you. It is very green out here and yes the leaves change to beautiful colors. It is the closest to home that I have ever seen. BUT, yes you knew there was a but didn't you? Fall is so short out here. It will be snowing and freezing before I know it. The thing that I am really struggling with is that we already have gotten a cold out here. The girls were sick with runny noses that has turned into this cough and I got what they had but I got a sore throat and stuffy nose. I HATE being sick. No fun. So we are not even getting to enjoy the little fall that they have. Oh well, I guess that I should stop complaining.

Finding the fun in packing

For the past two weeks Steve and I have been slowly packing up the apartment. This has been a long and not very fun process for us. Our apartment in filling up with boxes and it is making it hard to function, yet we press on. Yesterday it was time to start on the girls room. We decided to pack up the things that the girls can live with out, blankets, stuffed animals, etc. After clearing off the top of their bunk bed, we decided to pack the shelf that was housing all of their stuffed animals, and there was a lot of them. As I was on the bunk bed the box was on the floor and I was just throwing them down into the box. After I was about half done, I looked down to see that our little Molly had climbed into the box and was having the time of her life.

Once Maggie saw the fun that Molly was having she had to get in on it as well. Here are both of my little angels just having a ball.

I wish that the rest of the packing would be this much fun but I have a feeling that it might fall a little short.

I PASSED!

I am officially an RN. I took the NCLEX on Friday and after being "persuaded" by my amazing husband I looked up the results. Lo and behold I passed. After two years of school, work and being away from my family, everything has finally paid off. YEAH!

Maggie's 3rd Birthday Bash

I know it has been a little while since I posted anything so this time I will post a lot, probably so many pictures on this one that you will get so sick of them all. On July 7th we celebrated Maggie's birthday. Yes, it was a few weeks early but grandma and aunt Aubrey were there and we wanted them to be apart of the fun. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate Maggie's birthday. Since this was the last time we would be in Utah for a birthday we decided to go all out...

Here are the girls faces when they saw...

That we had rented this huge princess bounce castle. They loved it!

Maggie, Rachel and Olivia enjoying the castle

Molly and Mommy having fun too

All of the party goers enjoying the amazing food that my mom made for the party, THANKS GRANDMA!

Maggie's princess cake
Make a wish...

It was good cake!

Those were just some of the fun times that we had. All of the kids went swimming as well. They just went back and forth between the castle and the pool. I don't think that any of them wanted the day to end. Happy 3rd Birthday Maggie Moo!

Pinning Ceremony

July 5th - Pinning Ceremony. I have looked forward to this day for almost 2 years. Unfortunately for me I was put in charge of putting the whole thing together so I didn't really get to sit back and enjoy it like the rest of everyone else. I have decided though to remember it without all the drama that unaccompanied it for me.

Highlights:

  • Having my Mom, Aubrey and Amber fly out to celebrate this time with me.
  • Grandpa and sue driving up as well.
  • Being able to have Kay and Martha there to send us off
  • Hearing the beautiful tribute that my amazing mother wrote for me.

To end I want to say a few thank yous to those who helped me through these last 2 years:

Jess and Sam - who helped watch our children in the beginning when Steve and I were still trying to figure things out.
Ashleigh and Justin - who watched our girls and arranged their schedules just to help us, for being great friends and playing games with us.
Jamie and Jason - who always dropped everything to watch our kids, help keep me sane and just seemed to always be there.
Grandpa and Sue - who, without I couldn't have made it, for pushing me to do well and always achieve.
Kay and Martha - who gave me the confidence to be able to excel in the program, and for being there to talk when I needed someone.
My Mom - who talked me through the good days and especially the bad, for always being there for me, for flying out to help when I would ask, for having faith in me and for making me the person that I am today
Steve - who went to school, worked and stayed at home with our girls. For taking over the house, bills and everything else. For having patients with me and the program, and for loving me through all of this
My girls, Maggie and Molly - Who are the most beautiful and understanding children that anyone could hope for. For loving mommy even though she was gone a lot, for growing and excelling so that I didn't have to worry about them, for having patients and knowing that mommy would soon be done.

Without each one of you I would not have finished. Thank you!

Crazy...Crazy...Crazy

Well, I thought that since I was done school that I would have so much time that I would be blogging everyday - not the case. I have been going none stop since I have graduated school. After my last day of class came the 4th of July, which most people would think was fun and enjoyable, also not the case. Since we have the privilege of living on University Ave we have people camping out on our lawn and blocking us in our parking lot. It is crowded and noisy. What I really love is when the parade ( that is not that great to begin with ) starts we have people who even come up our stairs and invade the balcony outside of our door. This is not a fun time for me. I always end up in some kind of confrontation due to this joyous holiday. Here are some photos of what it is like form our balcony and front yard.

This year to add to our yearly fun, our management gave permission for a vendor to set up shop on the front lawn, without even giving us a heads up, Loved that!Despite all hoards of people, the noise, and the wonderfully considerate people my girls did have a good time.

At the end of the day I can say I am so EXCITED to know that I won't be here to do this again next year.

First day of NO school

So, on my first day of no school my neighbor, Jamie and her son Brock invited us to go see the colonial days in provo. What a great idea! I couldn't wait to be mommy again. So I dressed the girls and did there hair, which never happens except on Sundays, and planned our trip. We decided that since it is unearthly hot outside that we were going to drive. We wanted to drive together, thats more fun, but since I have two kids and she has a little boy, we weren't sure how that was going to work. It did... Here are are three kids squashed in the backseat of my little car.

Despite the cramped car ride, I think that the kids had a fun time playing with the old time toys,

with each other,

And climbing all over anything they could

So at the end of my first day being mommy again I have remembered a few things:
  • Two kids is much harder then one
  • You have to be in good shape to keep up with them
  • Schedules and keeping those schedules is the only way to survive
  • Pack treats, water and a change of clothes (yourself included)
  • ALWAYS make sure that there is a potty nearby

Too good to be true

Friday was officially my last day of free work ever, it was my last nursing clinical! After my clinical I was trying to figure out how many free hours of work I had done for my nursing program. Thought I am not sure, I think it is over 600 hours. What will I do with my time now that I am not giving it away to the hospital you ask...well here are a few of my ideas:

  • Play with my kids - including but not limited to going to the zoo, taking them swimming, playing on the playground, bike rides, and anything else they can think of
  • Craft projects - I have a number of projects that I want to do. An I-spy bag for both girls, an I-spy quilt for Molly, finish my tile boards x2, and finish my cubes x2. These are just the projects that I would like to finish before I move, after that the list goes on.
  • Clean my house - For the past 2 years I have tried my best to keep the house clean and organized, but as you all know I am sure that sometimes your best isn't good enough. It is time for a much needed spring cleaning.
  • Getting ready to move - Not quite sure how to even start this one
Only 3 days before I can get started

This can not be comfortable...

When Steve and I were going to bed last night we went in to check on M&M, when we opened the door this is what we saw...

Maggie had climbed into her PJ bin and fell asleep in there. How cute and probably painful.

My beautiful girls

I felt that I needed to share with everyone just how beautiful my girls are. It is funny how much they look like their parents. Maggie is her mommy 100% and little Molly looks so much like her daddy. We are so blessed to have these wonderful children. They bring so much joy to our lives. They bring a lot of noise too.

The count down begins...

I am officially done school in 11 days! I can hardly believe it. After almost two years, it seems too good to be true. July 3rd is the last day that I have to go to school. What a way to celebrate Independence day, FREEDOM. I keep wondering what I am going to do with myself once I actually have free time. I can't wait to play with my beautiful girls. They have been wanting some much needed mommy time, and I will finally be able to give it to them. I also hope to work on some of my projects that I have had for some time now.

All new to me

It seems to me that everyone has a blog of some sort. I guess everyone has to jump on the band wagon at some point. I know that it is not very glamorous right now, but in time that may change. It may not, but it might.
